Huddle Basics

What are Huddles? Huddles are discipleship groups of 2-5 people focused on Scripture, accountability, and prayer.

The purpose of Huddles: Huddles are all about Discipleship. In Huddles we keep each other accountable to keep on pursuing God in our daily lives. Huddles give us opportunities to be honest about our spiritual progress (or lack thereof) and opens up space for others to speak into our lives. One of the biggest priorities we have built into Huddles is the need for our own personal engagement with Scripture. If we all grow closer to God through our shared pursuit of this, then we will have reached our #1 goal for Huddles.

How often do Huddles meet? Groups could meet weekly or bi weekly. You can do some combination of meeting in person and online check-ins. Do what works best for your group. The small and lightweight nature of Huddles enables them to be flexible when other opportunities for growth and mission arise.

What should a Huddle meeting look like? Some variation of this:

  1. Discuss your thoughts, questions, and what you learned through the shared Scripture reading plan with the group. We will be suggesting church-wide scripture reading plans through the youversion Bible app.

  2. Answer a series of spiritual check-in questions. Add or adjust questions according to your Huddle’s needs. Here are a list of potential questions:

  • What has been your biggest joy this week? What has been your biggest challenge?

  • Have you been growing closer to God through daily Scripture reading and prayer?

  • What have you been learning? What areas have you been growing?

  • How is your spiritual growth being hindered?

  • How are your relationships/family life?

  • Are you growing in the fruit of the Spirit?

  • Have you been sexually pure in both thought and action?

  • Have you been a faithful steward of your finances?

  • Have you been praying for your “one” and faithful on mission in your daily life?

  • What is the next step God is asking you to take?

  • How can we support and pray for you?

3. Pray for each other.
